“Jumping Fences” graffiti video.

“Using interviews with successful artists whose work started in the street—such as Blek leRat, Lady Pink, and the currently famous/notorious Shepard Fairey—this piece explores the influence of graffiti and street art on and within contemporary art culture, as well as the growing media acceptance and commercialization of a once-demonized medium. The documentary footage is framed within a graphic world, where animation comments on the artists’ words.”

Printed Matters X Subliminal Projects X Shepard Fairey

It has been announced that Obey Giant art will be coming to Subliminal Projects. Printed Matters, will be an exhibition that incorporates every varitey of Shepard’s printed work, including prints on wood, metal, album cover and fine art collage on paper.

“Some people say print is on its way out, that it will be wiped out by digital media, but I say you can never replace the provocative, tactile experience of an art print on the street or in a gallery. Printing still matters.” -Shepard Fairey

There are also t-shirts that were made for this event which you can buy HERE.

Shepard Fairey’s street level murals.

The Noble Visions is currently working on a project titled, ‘Cincinnati in HDR’. Part of this project is the photographing of the entire ‘street level’ mural collection Shepard Fairey installed throughout Cincinnati during his 5 month ‘Supply and Demand: 20 Year Retrospective’ exhibit at the Contemporary Arts Center of Cincinnati. In our three previous articles featuring the HDR photographs of Shepard Fairey murals in Cincinnati, we were able to look at nine of the murals. (Article 1/Article 2/Article 3). As the end of the summer wraps up, The Noble Visions found time to get out and photograph the remaining murals that Fairey installed on his second visit to Cincinnati. Below you will find every street level Shepard Fairey mural that was installed in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region. A few roof level Obey icons are scattered throughout the region as well.”
